Terms of Service

Effective 10 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between Flection LLC and the studio or person using SpecFlint. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

01

The agreement

SpecFlint is run by Flection LLC, 2000 NE 42nd Ave Ste D Unit 2500, Portland, OR 97213, USA (we, us). By signing in or using SpecFlint, you accept these terms. If you use SpecFlint for a studio or company, you accept them for that organization and confirm you are allowed to; you then means that organization and its users.

SpecFlint is a professional service for businesses, such as interior design studios. You must be at least 18 to use it.

02

Accounts and teams

  • You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; you are responsible for what is done through it.
  • A team has owners and members. Owners manage members, invitations, settings and credits, and can delete projects and the team. The team's owners are responsible for the people they invite and for how their team uses SpecFlint.
  • An invitation works for 14 days and must be accepted while signed in as the invited address.
  • Your team can invite guests from outside the studio to a single project. Guests use SpecFlint under these terms. A guest's AI use is paid from the inviting team's credits, and the inviting team is responsible for whom it invites and what it shares with them.

03

Try It Free

Try It Free lets anyone draft the specification for one product without an account, within daily limits. It is offered for evaluation, as is. Drafts and uploads not kept in a project are deleted after 30 days.

04

Your content

You keep every right you have in the content you put into SpecFlint: files, photos, links, specifications, library products, standards and conversations. The specifications and other output SpecFlint produces for you from your content are yours to use, as far as we have any rights in them.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit and display your content only to provide, secure and support SpecFlint for you, including sending it to the providers named in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from copies in backups until they expire.

We never use your content to train AI models, ours or our providers', and we never share it with other studios. It improves only your own team's results.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload your content and to let us process it as these terms describe, and that doing so does not break any law or anyone else's rights.

If your content includes personal data and your studio needs a data processing agreement, write to support@flection.io.

05

AI suggestions must be checked

SpecFlint uses AI to read documents, draft values, rules, rooms, requirements and quantities, match products and check them against rules. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when it cites a source.

Everything SpecFlint drafts is a suggestion that a qualified person in your studio must check before relying on it. That includes product values, room counts, quantities, product matches and the results of rule checks.

A passing check is not a certification. When SpecFlint shows that a product passes a rule, such as a flammability standard like California Technical Bulletin 117 (CAL 117), an accessibility requirement under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or a brand standard, that is not a certification of compliance and not professional, engineering, legal or code-compliance advice. Confirm compliance with the manufacturer's documentation and, where it applies, the authority having jurisdiction.

You remain responsible for the specifications you issue and for your professional decisions.

06

The shared catalogue

SpecFlint's shared catalogue is built from product pages that manufacturers and vendors publish on their public websites. It is third-party information. We do not verify it, and we make no promise that it is accurate, complete or current, including prices, dimensions, materials, lead times, certifications and availability. Confirm details with the manufacturer or vendor before you specify or order. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners.

08

Credits and payment

  • SpecFlint's AI work is paid for in credits. Each action is priced from what the AI work actually cost, plus our margin.
  • Before an action starts, SpecFlint holds its estimate. When it ends, your team is charged the real price, which can be more or less than the estimate, and the rest of the hold is released. Work that fails is not charged.
  • A new team starts with trial credits, one trial per person. Trial credits and credits we grant have no cash value.
  • For more credits, write to support@flection.io. When online purchase is available, credits are sold in packs, in US dollars, through Stripe, at the price shown when you buy. Purchased credits do not expire.
  • Credits belong to the team that holds them and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. Except where the law requires otherwise, or as these terms say under Ending the service, payments for credits are non-refundable.
  • Prices are exclusive of taxes, which you pay where they apply. We may change the price of actions or packs for the future; a change does not alter the value of credits you already hold.

09

Acceptable use

Do not use SpecFlint to:

  • break the law, or upload content you do not have the right to use;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload, probe or get around SpecFlint's security, limits or access rules, or reach another team's data;
  • create several accounts or teams to collect extra trial credits or get around the Try It Free limits;
  • copy, scrape, resell or reverse engineer SpecFlint, or use it to build a competing service, without our written agreement;
  • fetch pages you are not allowed to access, or harass anyone.

10

Our service

We work to keep SpecFlint available and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features, and some features may be offered for a trial period or switched off. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any duty to you.

11

Ending the service

You can stop using SpecFlint at any time. A team owner can delete the team, which deletes its content as our Privacy Policy describes. Download anything you want to keep first.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your use puts SpecFlint, other users or third parties at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we end the service for you for a reason other than your breach of these terms, we will refund purchased credits your team has not used.

Sections that by their nature should continue after the service ends, including Your content, AI suggestions must be checked, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, Indemnity and Law and venue, continue.

12

Disclaimers

SpecFlint is provided as is and as available. As far as the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

13

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to SpecFlint is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud.

14

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, and the losses and reasonable costs that come from them, arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or the specifications and other work you issue using SpecFlint, including claims that a specified product did not meet a code, standard or client requirement.

15

Law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.

16

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the effective date above. If a change is material, we will tell account holders in SpecFlint or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using SpecFlint after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

17

General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about SpecFlint, unless we sign a separate agreement with your studio. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. We may send notices to the email address of your account.
